Gary Anderson

My first experience with a yoga class was at Integral Yoga in Greenwich Village, New York City in 1984. It was “love at first posture!”. It was in that first class when I had the thought of becoming a yoga teacher. After living in NYC for 17 years, the events of 9/11/2001 inspired me to seek training. In 2002 I moved home to northern Minnesota and began teaching. My first class as a teacher was in the elementary school library in Carlton, MN. My teaching certification is in Prana Yoga and I am deeply inspired by the Himalayan Tradition. Since 2003, I have shared my passion for yoga with students in classes (both community based and academic) at the College of Saint Scholastica. I have also taught through Two Harbors Community Education since then. The teachings of yoga have made a profound impact in my life and I continue to be passionate about sharing the gifts that I have been given. Currently I am in training to become a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy Practitioner. The PRYT training and doing sessions with clients are two of the most exciting things that I have ever done. Having a studio base at the Spiritual Deli for this practice is a tremendous blessing. Check out the Phoenix Rising web page at  www.pryt.com – click on articles. Call the Deli if you'd like to receive a session.
